The wisdom inside your wounds

Hi friends,

This week I’ve been exploring Chiron placements in Human Design. Chiron represents your wound to heal — and the medicine that lives in the wisdom of that wound.

When I looked at mine, I sobbed. It was like a spotlight was shone on a wound I’ve been carrying my whole life — the fear of being seen and still not mattering. For me, Chiron shows up in Gate 8 (Contribution) and Gate 20 (The Now). It whispers that if what I share isn’t profound or impactful enough, I should hold back. It’s the voice that edits me into silence, that convinces me to hide what I've created instead of sharing.

And yet, that wound carries the medicine. The reminder that my words don’t have to be perfect to have impact. That just sharing in the moment is enough. This newsletter is one way I’m learning to practice that — to express instead of suppress.

If this resonates, I’d love to help you explore your own Chiron placement. I’m currently testing a new Human Design offering focused on Chiron placements, and I’d love your feedback. If you want to know your own Chiron gates and get some reflective exercises, reply to this email. I’ll create a mini-report for the first 10 people who respond, in exchange for your thoughts.

Reframe Prompts

This week, take some time to reflect on the wounds that show up again and again in your life — and what wisdom they might be pointing you toward.

  • What theme or pattern feels like a “core wound” I’ve been carrying?
  • How does this wound show up in my choices, relationships, or self-talk?
  • What wisdom or strength have I gained from working through it?
  • If someone else was struggling with this, what medicine could I offer them?
Astro Note ✨
This week marks the start of Virgo season — a shift from Leo’s bold self-expression into Virgo’s grounded practicality. It’s an ideal time to refine your routines, get organized, and/or recommit to self-improvement. Think of it as a cosmic “back-to-school” reset, even if you've been out of school for 20 years.

Recs

  • Since we're on the subject of healing, I highly recommend the classic You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. This book has been so pivotal in my own journey. I still find myself referencing the index that connects physical problems with underlying emotional and mental patterns and reframes them with healing affirmations.

I hope this week meets you with clarity, ease, and joy.

xo,
Christen

Christen Hong Coaching 9/24/25 Hi friends, I’ve noticed how my constant habit of tuning into my phone leaves me feeling overwhelmed. The news cycle is endless and often debilitating — to the point where lately I found myself struggling to do anything. I know that to show up effectively in the world, I have to take care of myself first. So this week I gave myself a break and made Sunday an internet-free day. I’ve taken internet breaks before and they always feel good — and yet, it’s still...

Christen Hong Coaching 09/17/25 Hi friends, Maybe it's the eclipse season stirring things up, but I've been noticing how often a tiny assumption can quietly snowball into a whole story I take as truth. This week I've been reflecting on projection and assumption, and how they shape the way I relate to what I think I know. Over the weekend I ran into a friend and recalled a story that we had discussed years ago. I said, "You told me your dad subscribed to Rare Fruits Magazine when you were a...

Christen Hong Coaching 9/10/25 Hi friends, I've been paying more attention to my thought patterns lately — especially the way they can shape my expectations without me even realizing it. This week I listened to a 3-part series with Louise Hay and Cheryl Richardson based on their book You Can Create an Exceptional Life. In it, they spoke about the impact of your thoughts on how you experience the world. This, in conjunction with last week's reflection, had me noticing the little things I...
