Address the flat

Hi friends,
Hope you're well.

This morning I heard something that really resonated with me. A TikToker I follow shared this analogy:

If you had to deliver a package to someone and got a flat tire on the way, what's the most productive thing you could do to accomplish your mission? The answer isn't to keep driving on the flat. The most productive thing you can do is stop and address the tire.

That landed hard for me, especially because my attention has been pulled in so many directions lately. When I get into that mode, I tend to push — trying to make things happen, trying to get things done. Staying up later than I should, skipping breaks that would actually replenish me.

It's easy to fall into a "should" mindset. The kind where productivity gets confused with endurance, and tending to yourself feels like a delay instead of part of the work. But no matter how capable you are, you can only go so far on empty.

So I've been asking myself, "What would support me right now?"
Not as a reward for pushing harder, but as a prerequisite for continuing on.

If this resonates, I invite you to tend to something small that might lift you up today.

A Prompt & An Affirmation
What does support look like for me today — not just in theory, but in practice?
I lovingly address my needs and move forward with clarity.

Astro Note ✨
As Uranus stations direct in Taurus, we are reminded that sustainable change happens when our foundations are cared for. Small adjustments made now can support long-term staility over short-term urgency.

May what you tend to today make the road ahead a little steadier. Til next time...
xo,
Christen

Christen Hong Coaching 1/28/26 Hi friends, To be honest, I'm feeling a whole slew of emotions. This weekend has been a lot. Between the ice storm and freeze, I did very little, yet somehow didn’t get any rest. I tapped into the news cycle early Saturday morning and haven’t really been able to look away since. It’s surreal, reminiscent of the pandemic — that feeling of things being unsettled and happening in real time. It’s been strange trying to focus on work while everything feels unresolved....

Christen Hong Coaching 1/14/26 Hi friends, This week I kind of went into mental hibernation mode — anyone else? At first I embraced it. All cycles have a retreat phase, and rest felt needed. But then the worry crept in: that I'd fallen behind, that the momentum I started the year with was gone. Even when you know that thought pattern isn't helpful, it can be hard to shake when you're inside it. What usually helps me is to return to my original intent. I've been doing a weekly check-in on...

Christen Hong Coaching 1/7/26 Hi friends, A coworker recently told me that something I said to her a long time ago really stuck: self-maintenance is self-care. I still believe this deeply. Taking care of yourself and prioritizing your needs isn't selfish, it's essential. We can't show up as our best selves when we're depleted, and no one else can do this work for you. Often, support begins by covering the basics. Ask yourself:Are you hydrated? Are you sleeping enough – and well? Are you moving...
