If you went into hibernation

Hi friends,

This week I kind of went into mental hibernation mode — anyone else? At first I embraced it. All cycles have a retreat phase, and rest felt needed. But then the worry crept in: that I'd fallen behind, that the momentum I started the year with was gone.

Even when you know that thought pattern isn't helpful, it can be hard to shake when you're inside it.

What usually helps me is to return to my original intent. I've been doing a weekly check-in on Sundays to see where I am in regards to my goals and desires, and it really helped me feel steadier about where I landed this week. Here's the process:

Weekly Check-in
First, I reconnect with why I want to reach my goals. That alone tends to renew my excitement. Then I reflect on the past week using these questions:

  • What did I learn?
  • What actions did I take?
  • Who are my teachers — or who do I want to connect with?
  • How did I feel?
  • What is my short-term goal?
  • What’s an action I can take next week?

If any answer is “nothing,” that’s okay. Just live the coming week with the intention of being able to answer them next time.

Astro Note ✨
We’re in a waning moon phase, a natural time for release, reflection, and recalibration. This isn’t about pushing forward — it’s about gently clearing what’s no longer aligned so your next steps can feel more intentional.

There's always an opportunity to reconnect. This is just a gently nudge to point yourself back towards what serves you, even if that's simply resting.

xo,
Christen

Christen Hong Coaching 2/18/26 Hiii friends, I feel like I've had a breakthrough this week. It's a lesson I've learned before (and I'm sure I'll have to learn it again at some point), but for now I'll bask in the freedom I'm feeling on the other side of it. Sometimes I'll get stuck in a loop of needing to prove my worth, desperate to have people recognize me as smart. And it's a losing game. You can't possibly know everything. There's no way to understand everything without context. Things...

Christen Hong Coaching 2/4/26 Hi friends,Hope you're well. This morning I heard something that really resonated with me. A TikToker I follow shared this analogy: If you had to deliver a package to someone and got a flat tire on the way, what's the most productive thing you could do to accomplish your mission? The answer isn't to keep driving on the flat. The most productive thing you can do is stop and address the tire. That landed hard for me, especially because my attention has been pulled...

Christen Hong Coaching 1/28/26 Hi friends, To be honest, I'm feeling a whole slew of emotions. This weekend has been a lot. Between the ice storm and freeze, I did very little, yet somehow didn’t get any rest. I tapped into the news cycle early Saturday morning and haven’t really been able to look away since. It’s surreal, reminiscent of the pandemic — that feeling of things being unsettled and happening in real time. It’s been strange trying to focus on work while everything feels unresolved....
