Grounding: 2 Ways to Reconnect

Hi friends,

This week we're back with the next installment in the How Not to Explode series — Grounding. I first learned these techniques in the height of the pandemic and immediately felt how effective they could be. I believed in them so much that I even started building a course about it… which has been living half-finished on my desktop ever since.

So today I'm switching things up and sharing the lesson images on grounding from that course. If you try these techniques out, I hope they offer you the same sense of steadiness, clarity, and calm that they've given me.

Reframe Prompts

Here are a few reflections you can use after grounding to deepen any insight that comes up:

  • What feels different in my body now that I'm more present?
  • What emotion is underneath the noise now that I'm calmer?
  • What was I believing a few minutes ago that doesn't feel true anymore?
  • What actually needs my attention, and what can I release?
  • What's the most supportive next step for me now?

Let whatever you discover here gently and honestly guide your next steps, in your own time.

Astro Note ✨
With Thursday's Full Moon in Gemini, it’s a perfect time to tune inward and listen closely. Let your emotions surface gently, notice what’s been stirring beneath the surface, and give yourself permission to feel without rushing to make sense of it.

Next week we'll be talking about how you can benefit from assigning your own meaning to things. Until then, take your time and be kind to whatever comes up.

xo,
Christen

Christen Hong Coaching 2/4/26 Hi friends,Hope you're well. This morning I heard something that really resonated with me. A TikToker I follow shared this analogy: If you had to deliver a package to someone and got a flat tire on the way, what's the most productive thing you could do to accomplish your mission? The answer isn't to keep driving on the flat. The most productive thing you can do is stop and address the tire. That landed hard for me, especially because my attention has been pulled...

Christen Hong Coaching 1/28/26 Hi friends, To be honest, I'm feeling a whole slew of emotions. This weekend has been a lot. Between the ice storm and freeze, I did very little, yet somehow didn’t get any rest. I tapped into the news cycle early Saturday morning and haven’t really been able to look away since. It’s surreal, reminiscent of the pandemic — that feeling of things being unsettled and happening in real time. It’s been strange trying to focus on work while everything feels unresolved....

Christen Hong Coaching 1/14/26 Hi friends, This week I kind of went into mental hibernation mode — anyone else? At first I embraced it. All cycles have a retreat phase, and rest felt needed. But then the worry crept in: that I'd fallen behind, that the momentum I started the year with was gone. Even when you know that thought pattern isn't helpful, it can be hard to shake when you're inside it. What usually helps me is to return to my original intent. I've been doing a weekly check-in on...
